Our Story
We first met in high school when we ended up in the very same class. Ala caught Jack’s eye right from day one. Did Ala feel the same spark immediately? Well… let's just say her feelings needed a brief buffer period! A few months later, Ala realised that Jack was actually quite handsome! Word travelled fast, giving Jack the confidence boost he needed to make the move of a lifetime: sending a simple "hi".
From that day on, they texted non-stop - mostly because seeing each other in person still brought out their awkward, painfully shy teenage selves. Fortunately, they did much better on the dance floor. Year after year, Jack asked Ala to be his social dancing partner for PE, and somehow - for six consecutive years, they won the title of the "Best Couple" 💃🕺
The official turning point came on December 18, 2015. On the very last day of school before the Christmas holidays, Jack finally asked Ala to be his girlfriend at just 13 years old ❤️
From that moment on, they were practically joined at the hip. They grew up side by side, sharing the same group of friends and countless laughs. In 2020, Ala & Jack both headed off to the University of Stirling. While their contracts said they lived in separate student halls, Jack practically lived in Ala’s room 24/7 anyway...
By 2022, they took the leap and rented their very first flat together in Stirling 🏡 Having survived sharing a fridge, they tackled the world: heading to Mallorca in 2023 for their very first holiday together, followed by New York in 2024. That same year, right before graduating, they celebrated by backpacking across Europe for two weeks with Interrail. Now, they have visited 15 countries together, only to return home to the ultimate relationship test: fully renovating a flat.
And then came June 2026... While on holiday in Tunisia, surrounded by the stunning blue and white alleys of Sidi Bou Said overlooking the Mediterranean Sea, Jack dropped to one knee. He finally asked the question we had both been waiting almost eleven years for.
Naturally, she said "YES!" 💍
From two shy teenagers who could barely look each other in the eye, to high school sweethearts, uni survivors, travel buddies, and roommates. We cannot wait to begin this next chapter surrounded by the people we love the most!
